Roman Coins
137AD Denarius – Emperor Hadrian for Aelius -Silver Denarius of Emperor Hadrian for Aelius, minted at the Rome Mint in 137AD. Aelius was adopted by Hadrian in 136AD and named heir to the throne but died before he was made Emperor on January 138 AD, aged just 36.
69AD Denarius – Vitellius / with his children -Denarius of the Roman Emperor Vitellius, struck in 69AD at the Rome Mint. The Reverse shows the children of Vitellius. His son, Vitellius Germanicus on the left facing his daughter Vitellia on the right.
152AD-153AD Denarius – Antoninus Pius / Vesta -Silver Denarius of Emperor Antoninus Pius, minted at the Rome Mint between 152AD and 153AD. Antoninus Pius became Consul for the fourth and last time on 1 Jan 145AD and held the Tribunician Powers for the sixteenth time, which was 152-153AD. Reverse shows the Goddess Vesta.
77AD As – Vespasian – Titus / Altar -The 77AD Copper As of Emperor Vespasian, minted in the name of his son Titus. Struck at the Lugdunum Mint around 77-78AD. The Reverse shows a rectangular alter.
139AD Denarius – Antoninus Pius / Ewer -The 139AD Denarius of Emperor Antoninus Pius, minted at the Rome Mint. The Reverse shows Priestly implements: a sprinkler, ewer (a large jug), lituus (a crooked wand) and simpulum (a ladle).
173AD-174AD Denarius – Marcus Aurelius / Togate -Silver Denarius of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, minted at the Rome Mint between 173AD and 174AD. The Reverse shows the Emperor standing front, togate (wearing a toga).
125AD Sestertius – Hadrian -Orichalcum Sestertius of Emperor Hadrian. Orichalcum is a gold-coloured bronze alloy used by the Roman Empire on several coins.
49-50AD Denarius – Claudius -Silver Denarius of Emperor Claudius, struck at the Roman Mint around 49-50AD. Diameter 19mm. The Obverse shows the laureate head of Claudius facing right. The Reverse shows the winged Pax-Nemesis.
88AD-89AD As – Domitian -Copper As of Emperor Domitian, struck around 88AD-89AD at the Rome Mint. Diameter 28mm and weighs 9.48mm. The Reverse shows the Goddess Fortuna.
