1821 Gold Sovereign George IV - The 1821 sovereign was the first sovereign to be issued during the reign of King George IV. Reverse is Pistrucci’s St George and the Dragon.

1881 Gold Sovereign Melbourne – Shield - Gold sovereigns can be made in London, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney and can also in the same year have combinations of St George or Shield backs. Even the horse can have a short, medium or long tail.

1903 Gold Sovereign – Sydney Mint – Edward VII - King Edward VII’s portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin. 2,806,000 sovereigns were struck at the Sydney Mint in 1903.

1929 Gold Sovereign South Africa - The 1929 Gold Sovereign from South Africa Mint has the small letters 'SA' above the date to indicate the sovereign was produced at the Pretoria Mint.

2012 Gold Sovereign Bullion – Elizabeth II - Changes to the Reverse design of a gold sovereign are rare, but as 2012 was Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrating 60 years of reign, the Sovereign did feature a new reverse design for that year only.

2017 50 Pence Coin – Sir Isaac Newton - Besides being one of the most famous scientists in history, Newton was also made Master of the Mint in 1699. 2017 was the 375th Anniversary of the birth of Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727).

1623 Shilling – James I - The 1623 Shilling of King James I was struck between 1623 and 1624. Third coinage. Tower (London) mint. XII indicates 12 pence (one shilling).

1551 Crown – Edward VI - The 1551 Crown shows King Edward VI on horseback with the date below. 'Fine Silver' Issue. The King would have been about 14 years old at the time.
