1994 Gold Sovereign - ProofOnly Proof Gold Sovereigns were issued in 1994, no bullion sovereigns were minted.
Benedetto Pistrucci's famous portrayal of St. George slaying the dragon is depicted on the reverse of the 1994 Proof Gold Sovereign.
Queen Elizabeth II's third portrait can be seen on the obverse, designed by Raphael Maklouf.
The sovereign is made of solid 22 carat gold (Gold Fineness of 0.916), and weighs 7.98 grams. It has a diameter of 22.05mm.
