1046-1048 Penny – Edward the Confessor -Silver Penny of the Anglo-Saxon King Edward the Confessor. Struck between 1046-1048 at the London Mint of Moneyer Beorthræd. Trefoil Quadrilateral type. Edward the Confessor is usually considered the last king of the House of Wessex.
880 Penny – Alfred the Great -Silver Penny of Alfred the Great, minted between 880-899 by the moneyer Wulfræd, mint location not known. Diameter 20mm and weighs 1.62g.
964 Penny – Eadgar (Edgar the Peaceful) -Silver Penny of King Eadgar. Struck about 964-971. Eadgar, also known as Edgar I, Edgar the Peaceful and Edgar the Peaceable, was King of the English from 959 until his death in 975.
810 Penny – Coenwulf of Mercia -Silver Penny of King Coenwulf of Mercia. Struck around 810-821 at the Canterbury Mint. Moneyer was Oba. Anglo-Saxon, Kings of Mercia. Diameter 21mm.
785-792 Penny – Offa -The coins of King Offa are known for their quality and artistic content, and this exceptional silver penny is a great example. It was struck around 785-792 (maybe 793) at the London mint of moneyer Eadhun.
975 Penny – Edward the Martyr -Silver Penny of Edward the Martyr, minted some time between 975-978. at the Lincoln Mint of Moneyer Rodbert. Edward became King in 975 when he was only about 13 years old and reigned until he was murdered in 978.
