979 Penny – Aethered II (Ethelred the Unready) Ipswich -Silver Penny of Aethered II (Ethelred the Unready), minted about 979–985 at the Ipswich mint of moneyer Leofman. This is known as the First Hand type as the Reverse shows the Hand of God (Latin: Manus Dei) descending from the clouds.
899 Penny – Edward the Elder -Silver Penny of Edward the Elder, minted between 899-924 by Moneyer Tila in East Anglia. Diameter 22mm, weight 1.71g. Bust Diademed (BD) type (BMC iii). Legend EΛDVVEΛRD REX.
880 Penny – Alfred the Great (Tilwine) -Silver penny of King Alfred the Great struck about 880 by moneyer Tilwine in London. Known as a London monogram type. Obverse shows a diademed and draped bust facing right with legend: ÆLFR ED REX.
1053 Penny Edward the Confessor -Silver Penny of the Anglo-Saxon King Edward the Confessor, minted around 1053-1056. Pointed Helmet type. Diameter 20mm, weighs 1.33g. Moneyer is Godwine, at the Lewes mint (East Sussex).
1504 Penny – Henry VII -Silver Penny of King Henry VII, probably struck between 1504-1505 at the Tower Mint in London. The Obverse shows Henry VII on a throne with two pillars decorated with lis wearing a crown and holding a sceptre.
1024 Penny – Canute (Cnut) -King Canute (Cnut) Silver Penny. Struck between 1024 and 1035 at the Thetford mint. Moneyer was AElfwine. The Obverse is called a Pointed Helmet type.
880 Penny – Alfred the Great -Silver Penny of Alfred the Great, minted between 880-899 by the moneyer Wulfræd, mint location not known. Diameter 20mm and weighs 1.62g.
810 Penny – Coenwulf of Mercia -Silver Penny of King Coenwulf of Mercia. Struck around 810-821 at the Canterbury Mint. Moneyer was Oba. Anglo-Saxon, Kings of Mercia. Diameter 21mm.
