The 2023 Year of the Rabbit £2 1oz Silver ProofThe Shengxiào Collection, named after the Chinese zodiac, was introduced by the Royal Mint in 2014. Each year a Lunar animal of the Chinese zodiac representing that year is shown. 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit.
If you were born in 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, 1939, 1927 or 1915 then you could be in the Year of the Rabbit (The New Year usually starts around early February).
The 1oz silver proof coin (denominated as £2) contains 31.21g of 9999 Silver, has a diameter 38.61mm and a proof finish. Maximum mintage is 3,998 and 2,888 of these are released as a special edition.
The series contains coins in BU, silver and gold. These coins are available (subject to stock) from the Royal Mint Shop.
