The 2023 Quarter - Maria TallchiefMarie Tallchief (1925-2013) was an Native American ballerina and considered America's first major prima ballerina. She was born in Fairfax, Oklahoma on the Osage reservation, Osage family name: Ki He Kah Stah Tsa.
The reverse is by Joseph Menna (Sculptor) and Benjamin Sowards (Designer). The coin also shows Marie Tallchief's name written in Osage orthography.
The Obverse is a portrait of George Washington by Laura Gardin Fraser (1889-1966).
