The 2020 Two Pound Coin - Captain CookThe last of the three coins commemorating the legacy of Captain James Cook, one of Britain's most famous explorers. The 3-coin set (2018 coin, 2019 coin) fit together to create a map of Cook's great voyages. These coins will not be released into circulation.
This is the standard BU coin with Cupro-nickel Inner and Nickel-brass outer. The coin has been minted in silver and gold proofs as well.
The Reverse, by Gary Breeze, shows another piece of this historic jigsaw.
Edge has an Inscription: "OCEANI INVESTIGATOR ACERRIMVS" meaning "The most intrepid investigator of the seas".
