The 2018 Two Pound Coin - Captain CookIn August 1768, Captain James Cook set sail on HMS Bark Endeavour (also know as HMS Endeavour) for a three-year voyage of discovery. This coin marks the 250th anniversary of the start of that voyage.
This is the first coin in a three-year series that will follow Captain Cook’s voyage. The coin has a 'puzzle' design which builds over each year.

The Obverse show a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. Edge Inscription: OCEANI INVESTIGATOR ACERRIMVS. The meaning comes from 'The most intrepid investigator of the seas'.
