1919 Sovereign Sydney Reverse

The 1919 Sydney Sovereign depicts Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous portrayal of St George slaying the dragon on the reverse of the coin. A small letter ‘S’ above the date indicates the sovereign was produced in Sydney, Australia.

King George V’s portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin.

The sovereign is made of 22 carat gold, and weighs 7.98 grams. It contains 0.2354 ounce of fine gold.
