The Krugerrand is a South African gold coin. Weighing one troy ounce (33.93g), it is one of the World's most famous bullion gold coins. It's price is usually tightly bound to the gold spot price. The name is derived from a combination of Kruger (the former South-African president depicted on the obverse) and Rand, the South African unit of currency.
