Incuse
A pattern on a coin that is sunk into the metal, rather than the normally raised design (which is known as 'relief').
Ingot
Bar of metal formed by pouring molten metal into a mould. It may be stamped with its weight, purity and certification.
Initial Mark
An alternative name for mint-mark.
Inscription
Letters and words on a coin.
Intrinsic Value
The price of the coin based on its metal value rather than its numismatic value. See also Bullion Coin.
