2022 City Views London 1oz Silver Proof

The City Views series from the Royal Mint was launched on 28 April 2022. It starts off with London and shows an image of London as it was just before the Great Fire of 1666, based on the 'The Long View of London' by Wenceslaus Hollar.
80AD Denarius – Titus / Winged thunderbolt

Silver Denarius of Emperor Titus Flavius, struck at the Rome Mint in 80AD. Diameter 18mm and weighs 2.55g. The Reverse shows a winged thunderbolt on a draped table. The thunderbolt is a weapon used by Jupiter and is thus one of the emblems of the God Jupiter, the King of Gods.
69AD Denarius – Otho

Silver denarius of Emperor Otho, struck between 15 January 69AD and 16 April 69AD at the Rome Mint. The Obverse shows Otho facing right, wearing a wig.
1819 Shilling – George III

Silver Shilling (0.925 Sterling Silver) of King George III. Diameter 24mm. The Reverse, by Thomas Wyon, shows a crowned shield in a Garter edge.
1549 Shilling – Edward VI (Canterbury 2468)

Silver Shilling of Edward VI, the boy King (in 1549 he was aged about 12), struck at the Canterbury mint with mint mark "t". Dated (on reverse) 1549 in Roman Numerals.
1806 Halfpenny – George III

There had been a need for a circulation halfpenny since the reign of Charles II but due to the (relatively) high production costs mintage was sporadic. In 1797 the Royal Mint asked Matthew Boulton to produce copper coins at his Soho Mint in Birmingham and the Fourth Issue coinage included the halfpenny (and also twopence, penny and farthing).
