The 2022 Fifty Pence - 50 Years of PrideA 50p piece to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Pride UK event which took place in London on 1 July 1972. The coin is a UK first for the LGBTQ+ community.
The coin was released as Uncirculated, Uncirculated Coloured, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort, and Gold Proof. These coins are available (subject to stock) from the Royal Mint Shop.
The Reverse has been designed by Dominique Holmes and represents Pride's legacy of protest, visibility, unity and equality. The coloured coins accentuates the rainbow pattern of the Pride logo.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Coin shown is the Silver Proof.
