The 2020 Rosalind Franklin 50pRosalind Franklin was a British Chemist who is probably best known for her work on DNA, RNA, viruses, coal, and graphite. This is another coin in the Royal Mint's Innovation in Science coin collection.
Rosalind Elsie Franklin (25 July 1920 – 16 April 1958) was born 100 years ago and died aged only 37 due to cancer, probably denying her the extra recognition that her work deserved to get.
The Reverse shows Photograph 51 in Rosalind Franklin's search for the structure of DNA.
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. The coin is available as Unc, Silver Proof, Silver Proof Piedfort and Gold Proof.
