The 2019 10p - V - VillagesThe 'V' coin in the Quintessentially British A-Z 10p Coins collection is the Village. Many iconic scenes of the UK show the idyllic village surrounded by countryside, it's a view popular in TV and films. Unfortunately, villages are disappearing under the weight of population increase and being swept up into towns and other larger conurbations.
The Reverse of the coin shows the letter V and a typical village scene in the background. The reverse was designed by the The Royal Mint Team.
The coin is legal tender and is made from Nickel Plated Steel. The diameter is 24.50mm and weighs 6.50g. (The .925 Sterling Silver proof version weighs the same).
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Images used by permission of The Royal Mint.
