The 2019 10p - M - MackintoshThe 'M' coin in the Quintessentially British A-Z 10p Coins collection is the Mackintosh. The Mackintosh, or Mac, is a waterproof raincoat first sold in 1824. It was made from a rubberised fabric patented by Scottish inventor Charles Macintosh (note the spelling of his name, the extra k was added later).
The Reverse shows the letter M and a man wearing a traditional Mackintosh. The reverse was designed by the The Royal Mint Team.
The coin is legal tender and is made from Nickel Plated Steel. The diameter is 24.50mm and weighs 6.50g. (The .925 Sterling Silver proof version weighs the same).
The Obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.Images used by permission of The Royal Mint.
