2015 One Pound Coin - Royal ArmsTwo versions of the one pound coins were released in 2015, this is the standard reverse used 2008-2016.
The reverse shows the The Royal Coat of Arms (5th portrait) representing the United Kingdom. The design is by Timothy Noad.
The Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The edge inscription is DECUS ET TUTAMEN which means 'An ornament and a safeguard'.
This was effectively the last large production run of the round pound before the new 12-sided pound coin was launched as the two 2016 round coins were issued primarily for collectors.
