Ellen Wilson was the first wife of 28th President, Woodrow Wilson. This coin was released in 2013.

Born as Ellen Louise Axson on 15 May 1860 in Savannah, Georgia. She married Woodrow Wilson in 1885. Ellen sadly died of Bright's Disease on 6 August 1914. aged 54.

The Obverse shows a portrait of Mrs Harding. Sculptor: Charles L. Vickers, Designer: Frank Morris.

The Reverse, by Don Everhart, shows Mrs. Wilson's creation of the White House Rose Garden, with the White House in the background.

General Description: First Spouse $10 Gold Coins
Following the same schedule as the Presidential $1 Coins, the First Spouse gold half-ounce $10 coins honour the first spouse of each President. Where the President does not have a spouse, then an image of Liberty from that time period is used on the Obverse. Images from the life of the Presidential term are used on the Reverse.

The program started in 2007. Each coin is ½oz of 0.999 gold and available as a bullion or as a Proof coin. They were minted at the West Point Mint.
