Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous portrayal of St George slaying the dragon is on the reverse of the coin.

In 1912, Gold Sovereigns were minted in London, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne.

King George V’s portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin, designed by Sir Bertram MacKennal.
