The Reverse of the 1902 Melbourne Sovereign depicts Benedetto Pistrucci’s famous portrayal of St George slaying the dragon. The small 'M' on the ground just above the date indicates the gold sovereign was minted at the Melbourne mint, Victoria, Australia.
