The 1631 Crown - Charles I (Briot First Issue)Silver crown of King Charles I struck at the Tower Mint London in 1631 or 1632. Briot’s first milled issue. SCBC 2852; North 2298.
Obverse shows King Charles on horseback holding reins and holding a sword upright. Legend is "CAROLVS D G MAGN BRITAN FRAN ET HIBER REX". Mint mark flower shows Briot 1631-1632.
Reverse is a crowned coat-of-arms with "CR" to sides. Legend is "CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO".This coin graded as VF. Design is very similar to the Half-Crown of the same year.
